Why I Build With AI (and Why This Site Exists)

I've been putting this off for longer than I'd like to admit.

For years my work lived in private repos, client projects, and the occasional message thread where I'd explain something to a teammate and then forget it myself a week later. None of it stuck anywhere. So this is the fix. A place that's mine, where I can write down what I'm working on instead of letting it quietly disappear.

Most of what I do these days runs on AI in one way or another. Not in the buzzword sense. I mean the way I write code has genuinely changed. I describe what I want, I go back and forth with a model, I push it in a direction, I throw away the parts that are wrong, and I keep the rest. People are calling this vibe coding now, and as silly as the name is, it's a fair description of how the work actually feels. You bring the intent and the judgment, the AI brings the speed. Getting code out of it isn't the hard part. The hard part is knowing what to ask for, and being honest about what's wrong with what comes back.

That's most of what I want to write about here. What's working, what isn't, the prompts that turned out to matter, the times I trusted the output too much and paid for it later. Notes from real projects, not tutorials.

There's a second reason this site exists, and it's more practical. I wanted somewhere to test things. When I get curious about a tool or a technique, the fastest way for me to actually understand it is to ship it somewhere and see how it behaves. This site is that somewhere. A lot of what I write about will be running on the same page you're reading it on. So if something here looks a little broken at some point, that's probably just me in the middle of an experiment.

I'm not going to promise a schedule. I've started enough blogs that died after two posts to know better than that. But I've got a long list of things I've been meaning to write down, and now there's finally a place to put them.

So, that's the first one. If you're building with AI too, or you're just trying to figure out where all of this is going like the rest of us, stick around. More soon.
